Athena is a beautiful girl who is still finding her confidence, but once she feels safe, her playful and affectionate side really shines through.

She’s been tested off lead with an active male dog here at the shelter and absolutely came to life, showing off her rough-and-tumble play style in a friendly way. Athena can be quite boisterous and doesn’t always realise her size, but she means well and thrives with dogs who can match her energy and aren’t easily overwhelmed. With people, Athena can be a little unsure at first. She’s the type of dog who just needs a moment. Go slow, give her space, and you’ll quickly see her warm up into a sweet, loyal companion who wants to be by your side.

Athena would do best in a home that understands her need for gentle introductions and confidence building, as well as one that can continue guiding her social skills and play style.
