Sarge is a handsome German Shepherd with a softer side that really shines once he settles in. He does have a heart murmur, so his future home will need to be mindful of his health and committed to ongoing care and monitoring with their vet.

On lead, Sarge can be reactive toward other dogs, but he does respond well to guidance and correction from his handler. With calm, confident handling, he’s able to reset and once the pressure is off, you see a completely different dog. He is slowly improving in our care but will need ongoing training. Off lead, Sarge’s true personality comes out. When introduced properly, he showed a lovely, gentle nature — happily playing and interacting with another dog, even adjusting his play style to suit. He’s not a rough player, more curious and social, and enjoys a bit of playful mouthing without any aggression. Safe to say… he can get a little smitten too.

Sarge would do best with an experienced owner who understands lead reactivity and can continue working on his confidence and manners out and about. With the right guidance, he has all the makings of a loyal, affectionate companion.
