Marshall has been with Save-A-Dog Scheme for the past few months while we made sure he had the very best start to his new life. When Marshall arrived, he was paralysed from the waist down and had severe wounds on his legs and back from dragging himself around. He was also suffering from an impacted anal gland that later ruptured, requiring months of treatment and many veterinary visits before he was finally comfortable again.

Once Marshall had recovered, we introduced him to his wheelchair...and within minutes he was confidently zooming around as though he'd been using it his whole life. Throughout every setback, Marshall has remained nothing but a ray of sunshine. It's impossible not to smile when you see him eagerly rolling over to greet you with his wagging tail and infectious enthusiasm. He truly is the definition of resilience and proves every day that a disability doesn't stop him from living life to the fullest.

While we have seen occasional movement in Marshall's back legs, it is unlikely that he will ever walk on all four legs again. Marshall is now looking for a forever home that understands the ongoing care required for a dog with paralysis, preferably with previous experience caring for a wheelchair user or willingness to learn. He adores absolutely everyone he meets, be it people, dogs, and just about every insect and leaf he comes across.
