Smokey was very apprehensive when she first arrived in our care, taking time to trust her new surroundings and the people around her. As she has settled in, we have slowly started to see her true personality shine through, revealing a sweet girl with both playful energy and a calm, balanced nature.

Smokey can enjoy being active and getting out for adventures, but she is equally happy relaxing and unwinding once she feels comfortable. Around other dogs, she tends to feed off their energy- happy, easy-going dogs help her feel relaxed, while nervous or guarded dogs can cause her to mirror that uncertainty. Because of this, Smokey would do best as the only dog in the home where she can fully focus on building confidence and bonding with her people.

She is looking for a calm adult home that will continue helping her feel safe and secure while giving her the patience and understanding she deserves. Once she trusts you, Smokey forms a lovely connection and will make a loyal companion for the right person.
