Fudge is a beautiful middle-aged Kelpie who still has plenty of spark, smarts, and spirit. True to her breed, she’s quick-thinking, energetic, and always ready for a job to do. While she’s not overly fussed about interacting with other dogs (she tends to be a bit indifferent) she would much rather put her natural instincts to work and would happily herd if given the chance.

Since being returned to our care, we have received reports that Fudge does not have reliable recall, so her new family will need to be committed to ongoing training and management in this area. As with many intelligent working breeds, Fudge can be independent and will benefit from clear boundaries, consistency, and plenty of mental stimulation.

Fudge will thrive in a home with owners who understand the Kelpie mind: active, clever, and sometimes a little too good at problem-solving! She’s best suited to an experienced home where she can channel her energy into exercise, training, and enrichment. With the right people, Fudge will make a loyal, hardworking, and incredibly rewarding companion.
