Ernie is a big, strong goofball with a heart of gold. Once he gets to know and trust you, he turns into a giant cuddlebug who just wants to be close. Underneath his bouncy frame is a well-behaved, gentle soul who’s still mastering his coordination—and that’s all part of his charm! Ernie has bursts of energy but loves to chill out too, especially when he’s with his people. He’ll thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to keep him company, guide his training, and help him continue learning about the world. He’s still working on his social skills and would benefit from ongoing training and positive experiences. While Ernie generally gets along with other dogs, he’s not a fan of dominant male energy and can become defensive, especially when approached on lead without warning. With the right management and socialization, he’ll continue to grow into the confident, loving companion he’s meant to be.
