• Gentle, quiet, and sensitive
• Extremely shy and still learning to feel safe around people
• Looking for a calm and patient home
• Must be indoors only
• Would suit an adult-only home or a quiet household with experienced cat owners

Monsoon's story is one of survival, resilience, and hope. She arrived in our care in a heartbreaking condition after being trapped and left exposed to a storm overnight. Understandably, this experience appears to have been deeply traumatic, and Monsoon has been extremely shut down since arriving at the shelter. We know very little about her life before coming into our care, but it is clear that she has endured more than any cat should have to.

Upon arriving, Monsoon spent much of her time quietly observing the world from the safety of her bed. She was a very timid and cautious girl who was still learning that people can be kind and that she no longer needs to be afraid. We have already seen small signs of progress as she slowly begins to settle into a predictable routine and feel more secure in her surroundings.

Monsoon is now looking for a loving forever home with someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed. Her ideal family will be patient, compassionate, and willing to let her settle in at her own pace without expecting immediate cuddles or confidence. The greatest gift you can give Monsoon is a quiet, predictable environment where she can continue to blossom and discover that she's finally safe.

Monsoon has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which is being successfully managed with daily medication. She takes her medication well, and with ongoing treatment and routine veterinary care, she can continue to enjoy a happy and comfortable life. She has also been advised by our veterinary team to start her on a renal diet to support her kidney health.

With patience, understanding, and kindness, we are hopeful that Monsoon's next chapter will be her happiest one yet!
