• Affectionate and people focused
• Would suit someone who works from home or is home often
• Must be indoors only
• Would prefer to be the only feline in the home
• Would suit a family environment with cat savvy teenagers OR an adult only home

Sherpa’s journey has been quite the rollercoaster, but through it all she has remained the sweetest, most loving little lady. Initially surrendered and later adopted, her family noticed unusual digestive habits and sought veterinary advice, which raised concerns about the possibility of megacolon, a serious gastrointestinal condition. Wanting to explore every option and ensure Sherpa received the best care, her family reached out to us, and we immediately welcomed her back to continue supporting her health and wellbeing.

With further diagnostics, repeat x-rays, and ultimately exploratory surgery, our veterinary team discovered that Sherpa did not have megacolon. Instead, she had a gastric bezoar, a large, compacted mass of fur and other material, which was successfully removed. Sherpa recovered well and is now feeling fantastic, back to her happy, affectionate self.

She is incredibly people-focused and loves companionship, making her a wonderful match for someone who works from home or can give her plenty of time and attention. Sherpa would thrive in a loving family with cat-savvy teenagers or an adult-only home where she can soak up affection. She would do best with an adopter experienced with Devon Rex cats who understands the quirks of the breed.

Prospective families must be committed to maintaining a consistent grooming routine and a carefully managed digestive-support diet to keep her system healthy. Sherpa also has chronic eye issues that will require ongoing monitoring and occasional care, and our team is happy to discuss her needs in more detail with interested adopters.

Sherpa has only ever lived indoors and must remain strictly indoors. She would thrive in a safe, nurturing home where she can leave her medical drama behind and simply enjoy being a cherished companion.

After everything she has been through, Sherpa has shown incredible resilience and love, and truly deserves a forever home!
