Is looking for an experienced adult only home

You might remember Ganache from our recent fundraiser for her much needed eye surgery. She has now received her life changing surgery and is on the road to recovery!

Ganache is a shy and gentle little cat who has had a tough start to life. She arrived extremely terrified of people, and it has taken her some time to settle into the shelter environment, but with patience and understanding, her sweet nature is beginning to shine through.

She is searching for a quiet, indoor-only home with an experienced owner who can provide the calm, secure lifestyle she deserves. Ganache may also be able to live with a quiet, friendly resident cat - though she would definitely not enjoy the company of a rambunctious feline companion.

With the right home, Ganache will continue to blossom into a loving companion.

In case you missed it, Ganache was found as a stray and brought through the pound system. No one knew her story, as she arrived with no collar or microchip, and no one came looking for her. However, behind her scared exterior, her demeanour, and her eyes revealed a lot about her life.

Ganache, a sweet and soulful young cat, has likely lived her entire life in chronic, unrelenting pain. She was likely born with a rare and devastating condition called eyelid agenesis. This means she has no properly formed eyelids, leaving her eyes permanently exposed to dust, debris, constant dryness, and light. To make matters worse, Ganache’s left eye never developed normally. Instead, it formed into a small, misshapen micro-eye- a malformed, non-functional eye that causes her constant irritation and discomfort.

Yet through it all, through the neglect, the pain, and the unknown, Ganache remains gentle, sweet, and heartbreakingly trusting.

We now have the opportunity to give her something she’s never had: a life without pain. A life she has always deserved.
Ganache has been evaluated by a veterinary ophthalmologist, and the path forward is clear:
• Surgical removal of her left eye
• Specialist care to manage her eyelid agenesis, including cryo-freezing of her right upper eyelid hairs and collagen injections
• Entropian surgery to her bottom right eye
• Pain relief and postoperative treatment
• Medical follow-ups to protect her remaining vision

Thanks to the support of our community, Ganache is on the road to recovery, and is looking for her new beginning!
