TRUCKLE IS LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME
Truckle is a charismatic feline ready to charm his way into your heart! This lovable goofball is a social butterfly, who wholeheartedly thrives on human attention and affection.
Unfortunately one Saturday, as staff were completing their usual morning rounds they noticed Truckle had significant redness and swelling in his right eye. After an appointment with our vet, they diagnosed him with sudden onset uveitis and glaucoma, causing the pressure in Truckle's eye to increase tremendously. The pressure in his eye was unable to be reduced by around the clock ocular medications, and unfortunately the vet team assessed that Truckle's eye had to be surgically removed.
Despite everything he has been through, his spirit has remained strong and he continues to be as sweet and loving as ever. He is a people focused cat and truly thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to spend all of his time with the staff and volunteers at the shelter.
We are now looking for a long-term loving foster home where Truckle can recover and be surrounded by the care and affection he honestly deserves. Truckle will require someone who is home most of the time, and who lives close to our Glen Iris facility for any vet appointments he may require. They would also need some experience in administering medication to cats on a daily basis.
He unfortunately does not wish to live with other felines as he is FIV+ and is not keen on canines either. He would do best in an adult only home, and as with all our feline fosters, he must be indoors only.
If you can open your home to a special and affectionate companion, while helping us continue to help more animals in need, please reach out.
With our extreme gratitude, if you would like to contribute to the vet bills associated with Truckle's unanticipated eye surgery and to support his recovery, you may find the link to his special needs page here. Every bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
