El Jefe is a curious soul who is on the lookout for his forever family. El Jefe will require an experienced owner to help him gain confidence in his new space, as he can take some time to adjust to new surroundings. When El Jefe first arrived, he was terrified and withdrawn, but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement from the staff, he gradually began to trust and show his true, sweet nature.

El Jefe would do well with adults and teenagers who were respectful of his boundaries and were able to read his body language. El Jefe could potentially live with a friendly and calm feline, who was respectful of El Jefe's boundaries - although he is happiest being in the presence of his favourite humans. He could also share his space with a cat savvy dog, who was also respectful of his space and boundaries.

El Jefe certainly likes life on his own terms but for someone who understands this feline behaviour he will be a terrific companion.
