Maisey is a unique and affectionate girl who came into our care through no fault of her own. She thrives on human companionship and has so much love to give, but she also comes with some very specific needs.
Maisey is extremely selective with other dogs, and her mood around them can shift drastically from day to day. This is due to underlying neurological issues, which make her behaviour unpredictable around other animals. For this reason, Maisey must be the only pet in the household — no exceptions.
She is not the type of dog who can be easily trained or "socialized" through exposure. She needs a committed home that understands her limitations and accepts her as she is.
Unfortunately, Maisey has an angular limb deformity in her front legs which begins from the shoulder and works down through the carpal valgus. She may also have a neurological disorder as she is a little unbalanced. On observation Maisey appears very stiff and tends to jump around rather than move smoothly. She can sometimes be timid, but this again is difficult to read because of her body posture
Maisey has already been returned once, so we are seeking a family that is fully committed and understands the responsibility involved in caring for a dog with complex needs. If you’re patient, experienced, and ready to offer a stable and loving home to a truly special dog, Maisey may be the one for you.
