Doof has been with us for a little while, while we've been getting to the bottom of, and treating his weight issues. He’s a 10yr old boy who arrived skeletal and emaciated, with terribly dry, dull fur and flaky skin. He was lethargic and quiet. We discovered that Doof has an enzyme problem that stops him from absorbing food properly. We have him on a medication that has helped him immensely, that he will need to be on for life and he is looking much better. He has gained a little weight – which is still hard for him to do even with the medication, but the biggest difference is the shine in his fur and skin, and the energy he now has. We are at a stage where the biggest difference we can now make for him is to get him into a home where he can thrive and hopefully gain more weight. Doof does not get along with other dogs, so would like to be an only dog in a caring home that can look after his medical needs for life.
