Jett came to SADS as a 7.5 month old puppy with a pre-existing genetic condition known as bilateral dysplasia of her elbows. Fearful for her future without the help of SADS we took her despite the expensive veterinary treatment which we knew would be involved.
Jett has now undergone extensive surgery and has completed her convalescence to achieve a good recovery within the parameters of her condition. We are now looking for the appropriate forever home for Jett. She needs a home with someone who understands the breed and give her the appropriate training as she can try and be dominant. For this reason she will need and adult home.
Unfortunately Jett comes with some major limitations as to her future lifestyle. Physically she will always have to be monitored regarding her level of activity, as over exertion will result in her elbows becoming very painful. Jett will always need to be on anti inflammatory medication and as Jett travels into old age it is possible, perhaps even probable, that her condition will exhibit more debilitating characteristics.
If you have thoughts that you could love Jett and would like to consider offering her a permanent home and would like to speak to us about the pluses and minuses of such an adoption, and especially if you have a great love of Rottweilers, please call Margie on 0488 502 121.
